PILLERTHRILLER C90 (2006)

Since its release in 2006, "Pillerthriller" has become a legendary compilation cassette for collectors of back-to-basics industrial & noise. While cleaning out our storage room in our basement, we stumbled over a bag with covers and inserts to this title, complete with several of the glass syringes that was mounted on the cover art. Even the later versions (without the medical objects) sell for insane amounts these days. We would like to offer them here instead to those interested. They should be regarded as the first edition, only that the audio has been recorded onto new cassettes since the sound quality on the early dubs was below what we can regard as acceptable.

The price is still above the standard prices we charge for cassettes, but this is a rare relic of contemporary industrial / post-mortem history and we need to raise funds for new releases. If you don't like it, you can always get it for twice the amount from Discogs.

PILLER THRILLER (C90 - Styggelse 006 - 2006)

In time for the 15 years anniversary of the first Styggelse compilation tape, we found the remaining copies of the edition that came with a glass syringe mounted to the front. It was reason enough to offer it together with the original master files, as it left a whole lot to wish for in terms of dubbing quality. The cassettes are replaced with quality brand tapes recorded in real-time from the original master.
The idea with "Piller Thriller - A Pharmaceutical Com-pill-ation" was to portray the darker side of pills, the horrors of a society where the pharmaceutical have created a remedy for every ailment. It is the first in the compilation trilogy of anti-social realism.
We can send the scans of the cover upon request but rather not share it here.

If you're looking for the sound of kindling dread and cold alienation, this is the album for you. I'm used to Deathbed Tapes' output being a sonic assault, and artists whose approach to sound is to invariably push it "into the red". This however is so much more subtler, it's gentler pace drawing-in curious listeners, enveloping them in it's all too intriguing darkness. Ben Harris

I cannot praise this album enough. This album is absolutely terrifying! The many starts and stops creates this very h settling tension. Each start expands on the stopper idea previously. It’s like the music equivalent of walking through thick fog while passing out multiple times throughout trying to find a place to orientate yourself. There may or may not be something sinister in that fog, but you don’t want to stick around to find out. Bought the vinyl so I summon the fog demons through spe showhornwithteeth
